Project Title: Economic Profiles

Six businesses in Middlebury to focus on: Bread Loaf Corporation, Geiger of Austria, Middlebury College, Otter Creek Brewing, Porter Medial Center, American Hard Cider

Questions: students will study and make recommendations along the following general lines:

Gain general information - number of employees, SIC code, income levels.

How do you generate revenue?

How do you service the community? (Products & services)

How do you support your employees? ( housing/child care provisions/transportation provisions)

To what extent do you support the community? ($, volunteers, letter of support)

Natural allies or agencies that xyz company supports? (UW)

How can xyz company make what they do for the community more efficient?

Challenges xyz company faces in Middlebury?

Benchmark similar companies (SIC code) to see how they deal with similar challenges in their community.
